Solar Design, Personally Handled.

Gemini Solar Design is an independent PV and energy-storage design practice built around direct technical work, responsive communication, and permit-ready drawings that make sense in the field.

Sanjay Mallipudi

After earning a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Purdue University, Sanjay moved into photovoltaic system design and founded Gemini Solar Design in 2015. Clients work directly with the person developing the drawings, reviewing the electrical architecture, responding to AHJ comments, and coordinating the technical details of the project.

What Gemini Solar Design Works On

From routine residential permitting to complicated storage and commercial electrical systems,
the focus is on technically sound drawings rather than one-size-fits-all drafting.

Residential PV

Roof mount, ground mount, service upgrades, interconnection, site plans, equipment layouts, and permit documentation.

Battery / ESS & Backup

AC- and DC-coupled storage, PCS, whole-home backup, hybrid inverters, generators, and complex system integration.

Off-Grid Systems

Standalone power systems with battery banks, hybrid inverters, generator integration, rapid shutdown, and load architecture.

Commercial PV

String-inverter systems, 480V distribution, carports, feeder sizing, voltage drop, conductor schedules, and line-side interconnection.

Why the Direct-Designer Model Matters

Solar design gets much easier when the person answering your question is also the person who understands the drawing. Gemini is structured to keep that technical loop short.

Direct Communication Questions and project details go directly to the designer responsible for the plan set.
Design-Only Focus The objective is a strong design package — not selling modules, batteries, financing, or installation.
Complex Projects Welcome Storage, generators, PCS, service changes, off-grid systems, unusual interconnections, and larger commercial work.
Permit Revision Support AHJ and utility comments can be addressed without restarting the conversation with a different drafting team.

How Projects Move Forward

You can start with a quick inquiry or, if you already have the project information assembled, go directly to the complete design request form.

1

Send the Project

Share the basic scope or submit the full project intake if you already have the equipment and site information ready.

2

Technical Review

The system configuration, service conditions, equipment, permitting requirements, and missing information are reviewed before design progresses.

3

Permit-Ready Drawings

The finished package is developed for permitting, with revisions and engineering coordination handled as the project requires.
