More than a solar array layout
Off-grid design starts with the intended power architecture. The drawings may need to coordinate PV source circuits, charge or hybrid-inverter equipment, batteries, generator input, bypass or transfer equipment, distribution panels, disconnects, overcurrent protection, grounding, rapid-shutdown components, conductor and conduit information, equipment locations, labels, schedules, and specification sheets.
The applicable scope varies by equipment and jurisdiction. Energy-use estimates, equipment sizing, and operating assumptions must be distinguished from the permit drawings and documented appropriately when included.
Information that makes the design useful
Provide the project location, intended equipment, array size and mounting method, battery models and quantities, inverter or charge-controller models, generator information, distribution-panel details, anticipated loads, site photos, sketches, and any existing electrical drawings.
If the architecture is still being developed, explain what must remain powered, whether a generator will be used, and what equipment you are considering. Final equipment selection and system capability must be based on the actual project requirements and manufacturer documentation.
Direct coordination for complicated systems
Unusual systems generate questions that are difficult to resolve through a generic intake queue. Off-grid projects may still require jurisdictional review, equipment corrections, or professional engineering depending on the location and scope.
