The design challenge
A complete power system without a utility connection
Off-grid design requires every operating source and energy path to work as one intentional system. This project had two PV arrays, six charge controllers, a 48V battery bank, dual inverter/chargers, a portable generator, rapid shutdown, and 120/240V backed-up load distribution—with no utility grid available as the default source.
The drawings needed to make DC collection, battery protection, split-phase AC output, generator input, grounding, disconnects, communications, and emergency shutdown clear. Equipment ratings and operating relationships also had to remain consistent across every diagram and schedule.

What the plan set demonstrates
Off-grid reliability begins with documented operating paths
The 31-page package shows how energy moves from both arrays through charge control and DC distribution, into battery storage, through the paired inverter/chargers, and finally to 225A backed-up load centers. It also documents where the generator enters the system and how disconnecting and shutdown functions are arranged.
That complete path matters because an off-grid system must supply, store, convert, protect, and distribute power without depending on utility support. The permit drawings bring those functions into a coordinated package that can be reviewed, built, labeled, and serviced.
